Roller-Shoe Maker Appeals $2.8M Patent Judgment

Law360, New York (July 15, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- An individual defendant in a lawsuit accusing shoe companies of selling knockoff versions of Heelys, the children's shoes with wheels embedded in the heels, is appealing a $2.8 million judgment in favor of Heeling Sports Ltd.

Zi Zhen Qiao, also known as Jenny Qiao, filed a notice of appeal Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, seeking to overturn the final patent infringement judgment issued in the case June 15.
