Union Dispute Against Postal Service Nixed

Law360, New York (July 16, 2009, 2:55 PM EDT) -- Calling the move premature, a federal judge has dismissed a suit accusing the U.S. Postal Service of breaching a collective bargaining agreement by failing to submit to an arbitration award finding liability.

On Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Rosemary Collyer granted the USPS' motion to dismiss, concurring that the dispute is not ripe for consideration by the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia since the remedy issue is still pending.
