Ex-Boeing Engineer Convicted Of Spying For China

Law360, New York (July 16, 2009, 5:11 PM EDT) -- A federal judge on Thursday convicted a former Boeing Co. engineer of economic espionage and acting as an agent for China based on evidence the government presented that the man had stolen restricted technology and trade secrets from the defense company.

Judge Cormac J. Carney of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California convicted Dongfan "Greg" Chung of all but one charge of the 10-count indictment, which focused mostly on violations of the Economic Espionage Act of 1996.
