6th Circ. Affirms Viatical Policy Estate Distribution

Law360, New York (July 20, 2009, 5:21 PM EDT) -- An appeals court has ruled that a district court properly handled the receivership estate for a pool of almost $250 million in viaticated life insurance policies purchased by Trade Partners Inc.

The U.S. Appeals Court for the Sixth Circuit ruled Wednesday that the alleged vested interest of an intervenor in the suit was no better than the interests of the other claimants, and that he would not receive the full amount of his beneficial interest in the policy's proceeds.
