Nortel Taps Cleary Gottlieb For $475M Avaya Sale

Law360, New York (July 20, 2009, 5:21 PM EDT) -- Bankrupt Canadian telecommunications provider Nortel Networks Corp. has tapped Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP to assist in the sale of its global Enterprise Solutions business to Avaya Inc. for $475 million, as the company continues to unload assets.

On Monday, Cleary announced that it had been asked to represent the company in the transaction, with bankruptcy partner Jim Bromley and mergers and acquisitions partners Neil Whoriskey and David Leinwand leading the charge.
