Qualcomm Exec Traded On Nokia Deal Inside Info: SEC

Law360, New York (July 20, 2009, 8:08 PM EDT) -- A former financial analyst at Qualcomm Inc. unlawfully profited from call option trades he made just hours after learning of the company’s multibillion-dollar licensing agreement with Nokia Corp., according to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

The SEC hit Andres Levya, a former director of strategic marketing analysis at Qualcomm, with allegations of insider trading in a suit filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California.

According to the SEC, Levya made over $34,000 from the trading.
