Settlements Leave 7 Respondents In ITC Chip Trial

Law360, New York (July 22, 2009, 5:25 PM EDT) -- A case that at one time included more than 20 respondents has been whittled down to seven companies now battling infringement claims before the U.S. International Trade Commission over a chip patent belonging to LSI Corp. and Agere Systems Inc.

Administrative Law Judge Charles C. Charneski issued an initial determination Tuesday terminating the investigation against respondent Microchip Technology Inc. after it reached a settlement and patent licensing agreement.
