Locke Lord Denied As TXCO Ch. 11 Special Counsel

Law360, New York (July 22, 2009, 3:32 PM EDT) -- Facing claims that the directors of TXCO Resources Inc. do not require their own attorneys during restructuring, the bankruptcy court has rejected Locke Lord Bissell & Liddell LLP’s application to serve as special counsel to the oil and gas company’s board members.

On Tuesday, Judge Ronald B. King of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Texas denied Locke Lord’s bid to serve the independent directors after the U.S. trustee overseeing the bankruptcy case and the creditors committee objected to the appointment.
