Intel Challenges Record €1B EU Antitrust Fine

Law360, New York (July 23, 2009, 11:03 AM EDT) -- Intel Corp. on Wednesday appealed the record-breaking €1.1 billion ($1.56 billion) fine levied against it by the European Commission for allegedly forcing rival microchip manufacturer Advanced Micro Devices Inc. out of the global market.

The appeal was filed under seal in the European Court of First Instance in Luxembourg.
