RealTime Hits Exchanges Over Data Compression IP

Law360, New York (July 23, 2009, 7:26 PM EDT) -- RealTime Data LLC has sued the CME Group Inc., BATS Trading Inc., International Securities Exchange, Nasdaq OMX Group and NYSE Euronext, alleging infringement of four of the RealTime's patents for data compression.

RealTime filed the complaint Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, also naming as a defendant the Options Price Reporting Authority, through which participating exchanges transmit their price data in real time.
