Dechert Confirms Round Of Staff, Lawyer Layoffs

Law360, New York (July 23, 2009, 5:37 PM ET) -- Dechert LLP has laid off "a number of" lawyers across several practice areas and at different experience levels as well as staff members, a firm spokeswoman has confirmed, marking the latest round of lawyer layoffs as firms adjust to the current economic slump.

“We are matching our resources to what we believe our needs will be going forward,” the spokeswoman said in an e-mail message on Thursday. She did not reveal the exact number of laid-off lawyers and staff.
