DOL Should Up ERISA Fund Guidance: Attys

Law360, New York (July 24, 2009, 4:23 PM EDT) -- Two Seyfarth Shaw LLP partners have recommended that the U.S. Department of Labor refine its guidance on stable value funds so that Employee Retirement Income Security Act plan fiduciaries can better monitor and educate participants.

Kathryn Solley and Linda Haynes, who often advise the fiduciary committees established by employers for their ERISA plans, told the department's ERISA Advisory Council Wednesday that fiduciaries have been concerned about and interested in stable value funds since the economic meltdown of 2008.
