Law360, New York (July 24, 2009, 5:16 PM ET) -- Microsoft Corp. has proposed a modification to its Windows operating system to allow users a greater choice of competing Internet browsers as a solution to a pending European Union product-tying antitrust case, the European Commission said Friday.
The proposal involves creating a ballot screen for the operating system where consumers can choose among competing Web browsers to install as their default, the EC said in a statement.
