Fuji Awarded $16M In Disposable Camera IP Suit

Law360, New York (July 27, 2009, 5:09 PM EDT) -- About six weeks after the jury issued its verdict, a judge has ordered two companies to pay Fujifilm Corp. more than $16 million in a long-standing patent dispute over refurbished disposable cameras.

Judge Katharine S. Hayden of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey on Friday said the damage from Polytech HK's infringement was worth $11.73 million. Polytech, along with co-defendants Jazz Products LLC and Jazz President Jack C. Benun, are jointly and severally liable for $2.78 million of that total.
