Tafas V. Doll Could Become Moot: USPTO, GSK, Tafas

Law360, New York (July 27, 2009, 9:46 PM ET) -- Tafas v. Doll should be put on hold pending the confirmation of a new director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, both sides have said in a motion to stay the appeals court dispute over new USPTO rules.

With a new director, the new rules might be rescinded and render the entire case moot, attorneys for GlaxoSmithKline PLC, inventor Triantafyllos Tafas and the USPTO said in a joint motion filed Friday in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
