DeepNines Attacks McAfee Again Over Security IP

Law360, New York (July 29, 2009, 2:22 PM EDT) -- DeepNines Inc. has sued McAfee Inc. and a subsidiary, alleging infringement of three patents held by DeepNines relating to Internet security technology, the latest flare-up in a decade-long intellectual property war between the rival network security outfits.

The amended complaint, filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, claims McAfee subsidiary Secure Computing Corp.'s Sidewinder, SnapGear and Cyberguard TSP product lines infringe U.S. Patent Numbers 7,058,976; 6,930,978; and 7,380,272.
