Plumbing Companies Clogged In Antitrust Battle

Law360, New York (October 6, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A Utah-based plumbing company sued one of its suppliers Thursday for not letting it sell products on the Internet at a discount of more than 35% of the suggested list price.

In its complaint, Standard Plumbing Supply Inc., which has 68 branches in eight western states, alleged that plumbing manufacturer and supplier Blanco America Inc.’s Internet policy violated the Sherman Antitrust Act.

“Consumers are paying more for Blanco’s products than consumers would pay in an open and freely competitive market,” Standard said in court documents....
