BellSouth Sues Avaya, Comverse Over Call Routing Patents

Law360, New York (March 17, 2004, 12:00 AM EST) -- BellSouth has filed two patent infringement lawsuits in federal court in Atlanta against Comverse Technology and Avaya over its call routing technology.

The lawsuits assert that the companies are infringing on BellSouth's U.S. patent on call routing technology, which is commonly used for "one number service" offerings. This patent was granted to BellSouth in June 1998, according to the company.
