AIG Units Say Countrywide Lacks Authority For Claims

Law360, New York (August 4, 2009, 2:08 PM EDT) -- Mortgage insurance units of struggling American International Group Inc. have asked a judge to dismiss an amended complaint filed by affiliates of the former Countrywide Home Loans Inc., contending that the lender does not have authority to bring its suit alleging that the insurers have failed to cover loan defaults.
