Schering Sues Sun Pharma, Caraco Over Allergy Drug

Law360, New York (October 9, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Schering Corp. took aim at Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. and Caraco Pharmaceutical Laboratories Ltd. in a federal lawsuit filed Thursday, accusing the two generic drug makers of infringing on two of its patents covering the active ingredient in its Clarinex allergy medication.

The lawsuit, filed by the New Jersey-based company in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan late last week, concerns desloratadine, a tricyclic antihistamine which is used to treat allergies.
