Perkins Coie Takes Scalpel To Associate Salaries

Law360, New York (August 06, 2009, 1:25 PM ET) -- Perkins Coie has decided to reduce the salaries of its associates by 3.8 percent, becoming the latest firm to make cuts amid a flurry of slashed salaries and staff reductions at law firms nationwide.

On Thurssday, a spokesperson for the firm confirmed the cuts, which are scheduled to take effect Sept. 1.

The move was first revealed in a firmwide voice mail from managing partner Robert Giles, who also mentioned that there would be deferred salary rollbacks in some offices until competitors started to reduce salaries...
