Church Fights Back In Sex Abuse Coverage Dispute

Law360, New York (August 10, 2009, 4:14 PM EDT) -- The Archdiocese of St. Louis has fired back in a suit filed by Chicago Insurance Co., claiming the insurer should have to cover the cost of a settlement with a man whose son committed suicide after going public with sexual assault claims against a priest.

In a counterclaim filed Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, the archdiocese rebuffed an assertion by Chicago Insurance that its policies do not cover the settlement.
