Red Hat, Novell Still Face Interface Patent Claims

Law360, New York (August 10, 2009, 9:57 PM EDT) -- Handing down a claim construction that accommodates the plaintiffs, a federal judge has refused to invalidate one of three user interface patents Linux providers Red Hat Inc. and Novell Inc. allegedly infringe.

Judge Leonard Davis of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas concluded Monday that IP Innovation LLC and Technology Licensing Corp.'s patent is valid and adequately discloses a structure for its claimed function.
