Application Season Opens For Cleantech Tax Credit

Law360, New York (August 13, 2009, 5:55 PM EDT) -- Applications will open Friday for the U.S. Department of the Treasury and Department of Energy's joint stimulus program offering up to $2.3 billion in investment tax credits to companies manufacturing advanced clean-energy and emission-reduction technologies and products.

Funds allocated under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 will be used to create a new tax-break program giving successful applicants a 30 percent investment credit to build, expand or improve facilities manufacturing approved types of clean-energy or energy efficiency technologies, the agencies announced Thursday.
