Lloyd's Sues Gas Station Over Tainted Slushie Claims

Law360, New York (August 14, 2009, 3:58 PM EDT) -- Insurance underwriter Lloyd's of London has sued a Florida gas station, arguing that it should not have to cover defense costs stemming from a suit in which a family alleges it became violently ill after drinking slushies laced with gasoline from the station.

Lloyd's filed for declaratory relief and costs Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, claiming it is not responsible for any liability the purported gas station owners incurred by selling the allegedly contaminated frozen drinks.
