AstroTurf Strikes Deal With Calif. Over Lead Levels

Law360, New York (August 14, 2009, 3:08 PM EDT) -- AstroTurf LLC has agreed to pay about $200,000 in fines and establish stringent lead standards to settle the California attorney general’s allegations that the synthetic sod manufacturer failed to warn consumers about lead in its products.

Attorney General Edmund G. Brown Jr. signed off on a consent agreement Friday, which requires AstroTurf to adopt strict new limits under the U.S.' first enforceable lead standards for artificial turf.
