Yahoo, HP Caught Up In Traffic Info Patent Spat

Law360, New York (August 17, 2009, 2:30 PM EDT) -- Traffic Information LLC has accused five more companies — including Yahoo Inc., Hewlett-Packard Co. and Rand McNally & Co. — of infringing a patent for a system that helps drivers get information about traffic conditions in its latest suit over the technology.

The complaint — filed Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas — also names the American Automobile Association Inc., AOL LLC unit MapQuest Inc. and HP unit Hewlett-Packard Development Co. LP.
