AllVoice Sues Microsoft Over Voice Recognition IP

Law360, New York (August 17, 2009, 5:11 PM EDT) -- Speech recognition software company AllVoice Developments US LLC has sued Microsoft Corp., claiming the technology giant has infringed a patent related to software that allows for more efficient voice recognition in word processing applications.

In a complaint filed Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, AllVoice claims Microsoft's Text Services Framework software infringes U.S. Patent Number 5,799,273, titled “Automated proofreading using interface linking recognized words to their audio data while text is being changed” and issued in 1998.
