ITC Judge Sides With Nokia In 3G Patent Fight

Law360, New York (August 17, 2009, 5:09 PM EDT) -- Nokia Corp. did not violate four patents held by InterDigital Communications LLC that are related to 3G mobile handsets, an administrative law judge at the U.S. International Trade Commission has found.

Although InterDigital holds valid patents to the technology, Nokia did not violate Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930, Judge Paul J. Luckern wrote in Friday's initial determination. InterDigital has 12 days from the day of the ruling to petition the commission to review the judge's decision, which it says it plans to do....
