RECAP Breaks Through PACER's Pay Wall

Law360, New York (August 17, 2009, 7:10 PM EDT) -- Programmers are hoping to crack the PACER federal court document system with RECAP, a new Web browser extension that automatically adds, archives and makes available — for everyone, and for free — every PACER document and docket its users access.

RECAP, unveiled Aug. 14 by members of the Center for Information Technology Policy at Princeton University, is aimed at “turning PACER around,” and not just in how it's spelled.
