Defendant Class Denied In Real Estate Patent Suit

Law360, New York (August 18, 2009, 7:30 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has denied a bid by a group of California real estate brokers to certify a class of real estate companies and property owners as defendants in the group's suit alleging infringement of two patents by making real estate listings available online through zoom-enabled mapping technology.

Real Estate Alliance Ltd. filed a motion Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, claiming class certification would significantly widen the field of potential defendants.
