Fresno Pledges $1M Diesel Fleet Upgrade

Law360, New York (August 19, 2009, 2:56 PM EDT) -- The California Air Resources Board has entered a settlement with the city of Fresno over diesel emissions violations from city vehicles, calling for the city to invest $1 million in bringing its diesel vehicles into compliance with state emission and fuel-efficiency regulations ahead of schedule.

CARB announced Aug. 18 that it had finalized the deal with Fresno, which will pay a $49,500 fine for failing to properly regulate and keep records for on-road diesel vehicles' smoke emissions, on top of the mandatory vehicle upgrade.
