11th Circ. Grounds Pilot's Defective Plane Suit

Law360, New York (August 19, 2009, 3:13 PM EDT) -- An appeals court has sidelined a man's quest to recover damages from a group of Russian aircraft manufacturing companies over injuries he sustained when the plane he was piloting crashed, allegedly as a result of defects in the aircraft.

In a ruling Wednesday, a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit reversed the denial of a motion to dismiss the lawsuit after finding that a lower court lacked jurisdiction over the product liability claims.
