Medtronic, WL Gore Settle Stent Patent Dispute

Law360, New York (August 24, 2009, 6:08 PM EDT) -- Medtronic Inc. and W.L. Gore & Associates Inc. have agreed to settle their long-running dispute over W.L. Gore's alleged infringement of several Medtronic-held patents on technology used in arterial stents and other medical devices.

Judge Jeffrey S. White vacated the trial date, originally set for Aug. 31, in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California on Monday. The medical equipment manufacturers agreed to the terms of an unspecified settlement on Thursday, according to Judge White's order.
