Motorola Stockholders Win Cert. In 3G Phone Suit

Law360, New York (August 27, 2009, 2:13 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has granted class certification to a group of individual and institutional stock purchasers who blamed Motorola Inc. for financial losses they allegedly suffered when the company failed to ship its “third generation” cell phones to stores for the 2006 holiday shopping season.

U.S. District Judge Amy St. Eve of the Northern District of Illinois on Aug. 25 certified a class of individuals and entities who bought Motorola securities between July 19, 2006, and Jan. 4, 2007.
