FedEx Loses Bid To Toss $1.2M Discrimination Suit

Law360, New York (August 28, 2009, 6:40 PM EDT) -- FedEx Ground Packaging System Inc. remains on the hook for over $1.2 million after a federal appeals court upheld a jury verdict in favor of the plaintiff, who claimed the company had illegally forced her to take disability leave.

A three-judge panel of the the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit on Thursday affirmed that the company had violated the West Virginia Human Rights Act in its actions against package and delivery service manager Tammy Calef.
