Federal Court Reverses Decision On Patent Corrections

Law360, New York (October 17, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit on Monday reversed a lower court ruling that Medrad Inc.’s patent for MRI technology was invalid because it failed to file supplemental reissue declarations while seeking the reissue of its patent.

Medrad has been engaged in a long battle with Tyco Healthcare over the patented injection system used with MRI, or magnetic resonance imaging, systems.
