Zurich Told It Must Cover Relocation In Oil Spill Case

Law360, New York (August 28, 2009, 4:45 PM ET) -- A federal judge has ruled that Zurich American Insurance Co. must pay a transportation company $153,000 to cover the temporary relocation of its employees from its headquarters while an oil spill was cleaned up at the site.

Judge Anne C. Conway of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida ruled Wednesday that the relocation expenses can be considered cleanup costs under Orlando-based Mears Transportation Group Inc.'s policy and that the policy does not specifically exclude relocation costs from coverage.
