Nike, Adidas Slammed With Shoe Cushion Patent Suit

Law360, New York (August 28, 2009, 4:56 PM ET) -- Patent-holding company Akeva LLC has filed an infringement suit targeting several major sneaker companies, including Nike Inc. and Adidas America Inc., over patents related to shoe cushion supports.

Akeva filed its complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina on Thursday, seeking to enjoin the shoe companies from infringing six of its patents, as well as damages and attorneys' fees.

Other defendants in the suit include New Balance Athletic Shoe Inc. and Puma North America Inc.
