University Sues Over Dialysis Patent

Law360, New York (October 17, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Johns Hopkins University and Arrow International Inc. have sued a health care manufacturer for allegedly infringing their patent on a device that clears blood clots from vascular grafts in hemodialysis patients.

According to the complaint, which was filed Friday in the U.S. District Court in Baltimore, Datascope Corp.’s ProLumen Rotational Thrombectomy System includes instructions for carrying out the methods claimed in the patent.
