DGC Withdraws Electronic-Records Patent Suit

Law360, New York (September 02, 2009, 2:41 PM ET) -- Document Generation Corp. has pulled out of patent litigation against 17 health care services firms it accused of stealing innovative computer-assisted dictation and transcription technology for use in products relating to electronic medical records.

The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois on Tuesday granted DGC's motion to dismiss claims against the defendants without prejudice, but denied the plaintiff's attempt to get counterclaims questioning the validity of the patent thrown out as well.
