US Chamber, Others Seek Injunction On E-Verify Rule

Law360, New York (September 8, 2009, 7:16 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Chamber of Commerce and other business groups have asked a federal appeals court to enjoin the U.S. government from implementing a new rule that forces federal contractors and subcontractors to use an electronic system to verify the citizenship status of employees.

The industry organizations made the request to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit on Friday, the same day the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland declined to issue a similar injunction.
