Yahoo, Premier Settle Playlist Patent Dispute

Law360, New York (September 10, 2009, 1:55 PM EDT) -- Yahoo Inc. has become the first to exit a suit brought against it and several other technology giants by a Chicago-based patent-holding company that claims that the digital music industry has unfairly exploited its playlist technology.

Premier International Associates LLC and Yahoo have agreed to drop their respective claims and counterclaims, according to an order of dismissal Judge David Folsom issued Sept. 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
