Teva Agrees To License Shire Patent For Carbatrol

Law360, New York (September 15, 2009, 3:12 PM EDT) -- Shire LLC has agreed to put down its dukes and enter a licensing deal with Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. in a patent infringement dispute over Carbatrol, paving the way for Teva to introduce a generic version of the epilepsy drug.

Shire notified Judge Miram G. Cedarbaum of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on Monday of a settlement, after more than two years of litigation over Teva’s alleged infringement of two Carbatrol patents.
