Ex-Chevron Lawyer Loses Bid For Insurance Coverage

Law360, New York (September 21, 2009, 7:19 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has affirmed that USAA Casualty Insurance Co. does not have to indemnify a former Chevron Corp. lawyer who became embroiled in a labor dispute with the oil giant.

The lawyer, Michael S. Little, had purchased a homeowners policy and an umbrella policy from USAA Casualty Insurance, a unit of United Services Automobile Association. But USAA declined to cover Little when he was sued by Chevron for breach of contract and breach of the covenant of good faith and fair dealing.
