Chevron Agrees To Pay Up In Landfill Pollution Suit

Law360, New York (September 22, 2009, 12:57 PM ET) -- A federal judge has approved a deal requiring Chevron Corp. to pay $315,000 to end a suit filed by developers over cleanup of land that the oil giant's predecessor leased more than 40 years ago to the city of Antioch, Calif.

Judge Susan Illston of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California approved the settlement between Chevron and SPPI-Somersville Inc. and Somersville-Gentry Inc. in a hearing on Tuesday.
