Marvell Denied Transfer Of Carnegie Mellon IP Suit

Law360, New York (September 22, 2009, 12:58 PM EDT) -- Marvell Technology Group Ltd. has lost its bid to transfer a patent infringement case brought by Carnegie Mellon University from Pennsylvania to Northern California, where the semiconductor maker's headquarters are located.

Judge Nora Barry Fischer of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania found Monday that most of the factors involved in the transfer favored the university, which developed the patented invention at issue in Pittsburgh.
