Suntory Makes $3.8B Bid For Orangina

Law360, New York (September 23, 2009, 11:00 AM EDT) -- Suntory Holdings Ltd. reportedly made a binding bid for Orangina Schweppes Group on Tuesday, in a deal that could be worth €2.6 billion ($3.84 billion).

The actual amount of the bid was not disclosed, according to various media sources. The offer was made to Orangina's owners, Lion Capital LLP and The Blackstone Group International. The two investment firms purchased majority stakes in Orangina in 2006 from Cadbury PLC for a reported €1.8 billion ($2.6 billion).
