Pimco: Another Guidepost For Class Certification

Law360, New York (September 23, 2009, 2:12 PM EDT) -- The class certification opinions in In re Hydrogen Peroxide Antitrust Litigation, 552 F.3d 305 (3d Cir. 2008) (“Hydrogen Peroxide”), In re Initial Public Offerings Securities Litig., 471 F.3d 24 (2d Cir. 2006) (“IPOs”), and In re New Motor Vehicles Canadian Export Antitrust Litigation, 522 F.3d 6 (1st Cir. 2008) (“Canadian Autos”) have undoubtedly caused class action lawyers to reconsider their approach to class certification — at least for cases pending in the First, Second and Third Circuits.
