Law360, New York (October 29, 2009, 6:07 PM EDT) -- Globalization has caused international contracts to become increasingly standardized, but there are still major regional differences that can serve as pitfalls for lawyers, according to experts from around the globe.

Perhaps the greatest difference occurs between places that use a common law system, such as the United States and the United Kingdom, and places that use a civil law system, like continental Europe, the Middle East and Japan, experts said.
